According to the Soccer Laduma website, the 28-year-old cited personal reasons for his withdrawal for the game at Orlando Stadium.

Coach Gordon Igesund confirmed that Chabangu was allowed to leave the camp to attend personal family matters. The coach said all other players in the squad are ready to face Zimbabwe.

Bafana's Soccer World Cup dream ended on Saturday despite an emphatic 4-1 victory over Botswana in Durban.

The hosts needed to win the game to have any hope of reaching the global showpiece in Brazil next year, but Group A leaders Ethiopia - who Bafana needed to either lose or draw against Central African Republic - were instead 2-1 victors.

The win helped Ethiopia to top the pool and reach the final 10-team qualifying stage at the expense of South Africa.

Tuesday's clash in Soweto kicks off at 20:30.
