Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have yet to confirm whether they will release the three squad members who have been called up to the Bafana Bafana squad.
The three players in question are defender Tshepo Gumede, midfielder Gift Motupa and stiker Thamsanqa Gabuza.
The Soweto giants aren't obligated to release their players for the upcoming CHAN (African Nations Championship) qualifier, and administrative manager Floyd Mbele says the club will make a decision this week.
"We have to do a balancing act. On the one hand we want Bafana to go as far as possible in CHAN. At the same time we want the same for Pirates in the [CAF] Confederation Cup," Mbele told the Daily Sun.
"We will be guided by our technical team who will meet with management and a decision will be made this week."
Mashaba is already without Thabo Matlaba, Marc van Heerden and Ntsikelelo Nyauza when they face Mauritius in the second leg of their African Nations Championship qualifier on Sunday, having secured a 3-0 victory in their opening fixture.
Orlando Pirates defenders Matlaba and Nyauza were both in CAF Confederations Cup action at the weekend, with the former suffering an Achilles injury while the latter has been given the week off.
Van Heerden, meanwhile, is out with the same injury as Matlaba, joining Vuyisile Wana (knee) on the injury list, meaning Mashaba will have to look at alternatives like the out-of-favour Kermit Erasmus.
