Cape Town - Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund is expected to make blanket changes to his starting line-up for their international friendly against Zimbabwe at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, according to the supersport.com website.
Kick-off is at 20:30.
Bafana tackle their neighbours in what is essentially a kick-about in the park following their failure to qualify for the playoffs for the 2014 Soccer World Cup in Brazil.
Igesund will make eight changes to the starting line-up as he gives other players a chance. This match will also help the coach to start planning for the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which will be hosted in SA.
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper and captain Itumeleng Khune are expected to be rested with Belgium-based Darren Keet getting a run. Keet is the only overseas-based player left in the camp as Igesund has indicated he wanted to have a closer look at him.
Bafana will also be without Orlando Pirates players due to club commitments. Pirates are playing in a CAF Champions League match this weekend in the Congo, while overseas players were released back to their clubs.
There could also be a completely new-look back four from the one that beat Botswana 4-1 on Saturday.
The Warriors come into the game after a tame end to their 2014 qualifying campaign, as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Mozambique on Sunday. They finished bottom of Group G with just two points from their six fixtures.
Previous clashes between SA and Zimbabwe have been without excitement and suspense. There was very little to separate the two sides in their 12 meetings to date. Bafana have won six, lost five and drawn the other.
The last meeting was in November in 2011, where Zimbabwe won 2-1 in Harare.
