Bafana without goalie Keet

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana will be without the services of goalkeeper Darren Keet after his club refused to release him for the national team's friendly against Equatorial Guinea on Friday.

Keet who plays for Belgian side, KV Kortrijk, was the first choice keeper and presents a call-up for Platinum Stars gloveman Siyabonga Mpontshana as his replacement.

Mpontshana is part of the 21 players who are in the West African country, with only one player still to arrive, Wayne Arendse of Santos.

May Mahlangu is one of three overseas-based players in the squad. The others are Daylon Claasen and Siboniso Gaxa who both play for Lierse FC in Belgium.

The match was originally scheduled for Thursday evening, but the game in Bata was changed to a day later to better suit the hosts.

Kickoff is at 20:30 SA time.

The international friendly will mark the opening of one of the venues that will be used for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, which begins later in January.

Bafana were due to have their first training session on Tuesday, but according to the South African Football Association (SAFA) "on arrival in the country they could not find rooms at their hotel as they were only expected the next day."

Bafana squad:

Goalkeepers: Siyabonga Mpontshana, Briliant Khuzwayo. Defenders: Siboniso Gaxa, Morgan Gould, Eric Mathoho, Gilbert Rudiger, Ayanda Gcaba, Wayne Arendse, Patrick Phungwayo, Nazeer Allie.

Midfielders: Reneilwe Letsholonyane, George Lebese, Daylon Claasen, George Maluleka, Mzikayise Mashaba, Sibusiso Vilakazi, May Mahlangu, Granwald Scott.

Strikers: Ryan Chapman, Siyabonga Nontshinga, Lehlohonolo Majoro, Bradley Grobler.
