SA tumble down in rankings

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana have dropped 10 places in the latest FIFA world rankings to 64th place and are down to 12th in Africa.

SA failed to qualify for the 2014 Soccer World Cup in Brazil as Ethiopia finished ahead of them to progress to the qualifying playoffs.

They also lost to Mali in the 2013 AFCON quarter-finals, going down 3-1 on penalties at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

South Africa were also knocked out of the group stages in the recently concluded African Nations Championship (CHAN) when they lost 3-1 to Nigeria.
