Ah shame, and who cares anyway. Soccer in this country is dead!

  • dhirshan.gobind - 2012-11-07 15:09

strange how we have the world's best talent in far more technical, tougher sports like rugby and cricket but can't find 11 okes to kick a ball around. and before you talk about how much fewer rugby and cricket teams there are than soccer, that's not the point - even if only 1 team on earth played cricket, fact is it is far more technical and tough to play than soccer, yet we produce these world class guys. doesn't make sense!

      mo.mabitsela - 2012-11-08 13:04

you need to be "previously disadvantaged" to play soccer in this country... Cricket, you need to be talented/skilled....

Bafana is and always will be a joke, should change the nickname might then be taken seriously..

  • classwar.trotsky - 2012-11-07 15:16

    That's because they are crap.

Bafana Bafana only play friendly matches these days,of course they will drop in the rankings

So we loose by a goal against brazil in brazil n not get thrashed n then loose away again by one goal n win 2 games, one of which being away!don't see the justification in the number of places going down the rankings!I'm sure the rankings will improve after the game against d african champz next week!

What do you expect on the people who only qualify for the tournaments when they host the cup and to salt on that wounds they good enough to play the first round and watch the rest of the tournament. They are just wasting taxpayers' money!!

I'd also tumble on a banana. Nuff said.

In a Xhosa language Bafana means young men who do almost everything to support and protect their communities but these young men(Bafana-bafana)are being bullied by everyone.

They probably have more resources than any other sport and yet they don't know poo from toffee re soccer.

these rankings are just plain nonsense period, how does a crap team like England stays in Top 10? it just shows you that these are just worthless rankings devised to boost the egos of some

      dave.e.richman - 2012-11-08 10:08

This may be difficult for you to understand, but the rankings are based on results..... and no matter how much you try to ignore that little fact, England win far more games than they lose...... do a little bit of research before you spout off your bigoted garbage. Why on earth would an organisation like FIFA "fix" the rankings for the benefit of England? Closer to home, perhaps if Bafana actually won some important games every now and again - not just meaningless friendlies against the likes of the Maldives - then their ranking would climb.
