Cape Town - The Ivory Coast were a goal ahead at halftime in their Nelson Mandela Challenge clash against South Africa at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

Bafana Bafana's Siboniso Gaxa scored an own goal to give the Ivory Coast a 1-0 lead after 36 minutes.

Th Elephants dominated the possession stakes with 57%, compared to Bafana's 43%.

South Africa did, however, have more shots on goal (4), compared to the visitors' two attempts, but failed to capitalise on their chances.
