Bafana team to face Niger

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has included some new faces in the 25-man squad to play Niger next month.

According to Kickoff.com the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier will take place at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga on September 4 and  two players, Happy Jele and Keegan Ritchie, have made the cut.

Mosimane, who guided Bafana to a 1-0 win over Ghana in an international friendly which was his first match in charge, says: “We are building from the Ghana match since we got a good result against credible opponents. We have brought in a few youngsters in this team.”

Bafana squad:


Goalkeepers: Itumeleng Khune, Moeneeb Josephs

Defenders: Siboniso Gaxa, Morgan Gould, Tsepo Masilela, Aaron Mokoena, Anele Ngcongca, Siyabonga Sangweni, Bongani Khumalo, Innocent Mdledle, Keegan Ritchie, Happy Jele

Midfielders: Siphiwe Tshabalala, Daine Klate, Teko Modise, Thanduyise Khuboni, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Steven Pienaar, MacBeth Sibaya, Andile Jali, Daylon Claasen

Strikers: Katlego Mphela, Kermit Erasmus, Bernard Parker, Sthembiso Ngcobo
