Bafana squad to face Angola confirmed

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana have announced the squad to travel to Angola for the return leg of their CHAN 2016 qualifier.

South Africa lost 2-0 to Angola in the first leg played at the Rand Stadium last Saturday.

They take on Angola in the second-leg which will be played at 11 de Novembre Stadium which was constructed for the 2010 AFCON finals which the Angolans hosted.

It has a capacity of 50 000 but according to Ivan Capuepue, the Angolan media manager, not less than 35 000 fans are expected for the ‘hostile’ return leg.

In naming the final 18 players that travel to Angola, assistant coach Thabo Senong said the named players have the capacity to spoil the party for the Angolans.

“We know we have left ourselves with a big mountain to climb but we are very hopeful that we can take the match to the Angolans and conjure up an unlikely result," said Senong.

"We are not going there (Angola) just to fulfil the match but fight to the end."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
