Cape Town - Bafana Bafana have climbed to 56th place in the latest FIFA World Rankings, up six places from last month while also breaking back into the top 10 countries on the African continent.
There have been no major movements globally, with Spain maintaining their stranglehold as the best ranked team in the world with 1 538 points.
The rest of the top 10 remains unchanged as Germany, Argentina, Croatia, Portugal, Colombia, England, Italy, Netherlands and Ecuador comple the list.
According to FIFA's website, the only movement within the top 20 are Switzerland (14th) and Belgium (15th), who have both climbed one place, overtaking Mexico (16th).
Bafana, who has not played since beating the Central African Republic in March, have had their points adjusted in accordance with FIFA's point structure and currently stand on 541 points.
This means that they have leaped back into Africa's top 10, where Ivory Coast, on 1 008 points, continue to lead the way. Ghana, Mali, Nigeria and Algeria complete the top five African nations, respectively.
More movement in the table is expected next month when teams will continue their quest to qualify for next year's FIFA World Cup in Brazil, while eight other teams who have qualified for the FIFA Confederations Cup, play their first warm-up matches ahead of the showdown in the same country.
