Bafana make four changes

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund has made four changes ahead of the team's second soccer game of the African Nations Championship against Mali on Wednesday afternoon.

At the back, Igesund replaced right-back Bryce Moon with the hard-working Vuyo Mere of Platinum Stars, while the rest of the defenders remained unchanged.

Matthew Pattison replaces Lerato Chabangu in midfield, while Lindokuhle Mbatha, who made his international debut against Mozambique on Saturday, is preferred ahead of Sibusiso Vilakazi.

Upfront, Edward Manqele will lead the line for South Africa at the expense of Katlego Mashego, with Bernard Parker retaining his position, following two superb strikes in the opening game against Mozambique.

South Africa team to face Mali:

Itumeleng Khune, Vuyo Mere, Thabo Nthethe, Buhle Mkhwanazi, Thato Mokeke, Lindokuhle Mbatha, Hlompho Kekana, Matthew Pattison, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Bernard Parker and Edward Manqele.
