Johannesburg - It will be a huge embarrassment if Bafana Bafana fail to qualify for the 2014 SWC finals in Brazil, FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke said. The forthright Valcke was addressing a media briefing at SAFA House soon after the last 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee board meeting."We want South Africa to be at the next World Cup in Brazil. You can't just play at the World Cup finals when you are organising it," he said. "It will be a bad thing if Bafana Bafana are not with us in Brazil in 2014, especially after you hosted the last World Cup finals."Valcke, who once again praised South Africans for a successful World Cup, said FIFA will continue helping SAFA to run their affairs more professionally in all aspects of the game.SAFA president Kirsten Nematandani said the LOC board meeting resolved to appoint three administrators to wind up the World Cup activities - himself, Danny Jordaan and Chief Mwelo Nonkonyana, two of his four deputies.LOC chairperson Irvin Khoza was not included in the committee. Nematandani is chairing the meetings.Jordaan said development will get a big chunk of the World Cup proceeds.Meanwhile, Jordaan and FIFA president Sepp Blatter were on Monday night named the joint 2010 National Press Club Newsmaker of the Year winners in Pretoria.
