Bafana fit for Egypt

Phokeng - Bafana Bafana concluded preparations at their Royal Marang Hotel base camp in Phokeng where they have been holding camp there since last week Thursday with positive news around the playing personnel.

Following the last training session in Phokeng on Thursday morning, team doctor Ephraim Nematswerani has given the team a clean bill of health.

"I said on Monday that we had a few injuries in the team with three players Siphiwe Tshabalala (right hamstring), Steven Pienaar (bilateral groins) and Reuben Cloete (right groin) on the list. The trio have been on special individual training programmes and have responded well to treatment.

“Both Tshabalala and Cloete rejoined the team on Tuesday, while Pienaar trained with his team-mates on Wednesday and today (Thursday). I can safely say the team has a clean bill of health. We still have the last training session on Friday but i don't foresee any problems, and I am almost certain that the situation will not change. Obviously I will still keep an eye on them but I am satisfied with the results so far," said Nematswerani.

Bafana Bafana left Rustenburg on Thursday. They have one last training session on Friday afternoon at the Ellis Park Stadium where they will take on Egypt in a 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifier. The match will be played on Saturday starting at 20:05.

Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane along with Siphiwe Tshabalala are scheduled to address the media on Friday at the Southern Sun Monte Casino Hotel at 11:00.
