Bafana drop a ranking spot

Cape Town - FIFA has released the latest rankings and Bafana Bafana have dropped one spot to be ranked number 66 in the world.

Bafana Bafana are currently coach-less after SAFA decided not to renew the contract of Gordon Igesund.

The new coach will be announced next week following a meeting of SAFA's NEC committe and the new boss will take charge of the world's number 66th ranked side.

Bafana Bafana are ranked as the 14th best side on the African continent.

Most of the movement in the rankings was due to the teams competing in the Soccer World Cup, which the national team failed to qualify for.

The biggest mover was the Netherlands who rose from 12th spot to third while Spain fell from the top spot to be ranked number eight in the world.

After failing to qualify for the group stages, England dropped from 10th to 20th position.
