Cape Town - Dean Furman remains on the lookout for a new club after failing to secure a contract with Blackburn Rovers.
The Lancashire Telegraph reports that the South African midfielder has been released after a trial with Blackburn Rovers.
The Championship side confirmed the decision following their 2-1 loss at Rochdale on Tuesday. Furman was not involved in the game despite some speculation in the English media that he may get one more chacne to impress in the blue and white of Rovers.
Blackburn have confirmed the signing of French pair Sacha Petschi and Bangaly Fode Koita but opted against making a move to add Furman and fellow trialist, Giles Coke, to their 2015/16 squad.
"Unfortunately they've been with us and obviously we had to come to a decision," the club's manager Gary Bowyer said.
"We've made the decision not to go with either of them due to the restrictions that we're under.
