Bafana ranking on the rise

Johannesburg - South Africa climbed four places to 67th in the latest FIFA world rankings released on Wednesday.

Bafana Bafana, who have not played a match since they settled for a goalless draw against Senegal in Durban in February, moved back up the ratings list after tumbling to 71st place in April - the country's worst ranking since June 2010.

The South Africans also climbed one position, above Guinea, to 14th among African nations.

Without a win in their last six internationals, Bafana face Ethiopia in their next fixture, a World Cup qualifier, in Rustenburg on June 3.

Ivory Coast remained top of the African table, in 15th place overall, and world champions Spain retained top spot in the global list.
