Johannesburg - The Under-23 national soccer team, Amaglug-glug, are set to raise the curtain for their ‘Big Brothers’ ahead of Bafana Bafana’s game against the United States of America on Wednesday night, when they take on Botswana.
The senior team will host the USA at Cape Town Stadium in the Nelson Mandela Cup but before that main game is played, Amaglug-glug will host Botswana in an international friendly to set the mood at the 2010 Soccer World Cup venue.
The game against Botswana will be a great platform for the youngsters to practice on as they prepare for their all important 2012 London Olympic qualifier games against Libya early next year.
With coach Shakes Mashaba back at the helm of the team, the players will be expected to go through to the next round just as Mashaba’s squad did in 2000.
With Amaglug-glug showcasing their talented stars in the likes of Thulani Serero, George Maluleka, Sameegh Doutie, Sibusiso Khumalo, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Phumelele Bhengu, the match scheduled for 18:00 should be one to remember.
