Cape Town - SAFA has declared that disciplinary action will be taken against two Bafana Bafana players who did not attend scheduled medical exams.
According to the soccerladuma website, SAFA CEO, Dennis Mumble, stated that an investigation is currently underway and the players who are found guilty of dishonoring their national duty by faking injuries, will be dealt with.
“In the case of the two players, it is commonly understood that players who are called for national duty should be examined by our team doctor. We even bring in our players who are based overseas to be checked out by our team doctors. This is how it has been done for many years so we cannot make any exception for the these two players,” said Mumble.
Mumble would not reveal the identity of the players in question due to the fact that an investigation is underway on both players.
Bafana drew 1-1 with Australian in their first friendly last Monday and face New Zealand on Friday in the second and final match of their Australasian tour.
Kick-off is at 09:30 SA time.
