24-year-old Johannesburg born midfielder Andrew Surman made his return to action for Norwich City last weekend after a lengthy injury absence.
Rushed back from the treatment table to help the Canaries out of an injury fix, he played 63 minutes in their draw with Somma's Leeds.
That brief cameo had Norwich fans in a tizzy, waxing lyrical about his battling qualities in the midfield.
Having transferred to Norwich from Wolves, insiders at the Norfolk club believe that Surman is their one player with more than enough potential to make it in the top flight.
Surman is desperate to make an impact for his team as they harbour intentions of promotion to the Premier League, and was happy to make his return to action.
“Obviously it’s quite soon since I have been back from my injury, but in my own head I wanted to be back in the team as quickly as I could, so when the opportunity came along today it was great for me," he told EDP24.co.uk.
“I hate watching games,” he added regarding his time out. “I feel like I’ve played after watching games. But it’s been a good start. We have put ourselves in a good position near the top and have found ourselves looking up rather than down.”
