Cape Town - Zambia play nemesis Tunisia hoping to break their AFCON jinx against the Carthage Eagles.
The two sides head into their penultimate Group B game in Ebebiyin tied on one point after drawing their respective opening matches.
Chipolopolo has never beaten Tunisia from four meetings at the Africa Cup with two draws and as many defeats.
The two sides’ last clash at the African Cup was at the 2010 edition in Angola where they played out to a 1-1 draw in Lubango.
Zambia captain Rainford Kalaba said Thursday’s Group B encounter is the sides best opportunity to end their run of agonising results against Tunisia.
"I think at the moment I see the Arab of old is different from the Arab of now. They are not that powerful like before. It’s just our mentality that will determine how handle them," Kalaba said.
"If we go with a positive mind and good character we will beat them."
Meanwhile, Zambia will have one major absentee heading into the game with influential midfielder Nathan Sinkala ruled out of the tournament with a knee injury that he suffered in the 1-1 draw against DR Congo on January 18.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 18:00 (SA time).
