Johannesburg - Burkina Faso midfielder Jonathan Pitroipa has been named the 2013
Africa Cup of Nations Player of the Tournament following his inspired
form in South Africa.

as Nigeria clinched the title with a 1-0 victory at the National
The Rennes playermaker's achievement should, however, help ease

Pitroipa had actually been in danger of missing out this weekend's showpiece encounter after he saw red in the semi-final against Ghana, although the Tunisian
referee quickly admitted an error in sending off the player and CAF
soon rescinded the decision.
Meanwhile, Nigeria's star striker Emmanuel Emenike took home the
Golden Boot following his four goals at the tournament, while compatriot
Victor Moses picked up the Fair Play honour.
Tunisian forward Youssef Msakni also had something to cheer about
at the end of the African spectacular, earning the Goal of the
Tournament following his last-gasp winner against Algeria in their Group
