Cape Town - Zambia look set to be without Emmanuel Mayuka for their final
Group B clash after the striker was rushed to hospital with a groin
injury on Thursday evening.
The Southampton forward had put Chipolopolo ahead against Tunisia in this week's Africa Cup of Nations clash, but needed to be stretchered off with 20 minutes remaining after suffering a suspected tear as he stretched for a delivery at the far post before landing awkwardly.
The Copper Bullets would eventually go on to lose the tie 2-1, and the defeat has now come at an added cost as Mayuka's contributions in Equatorial Guinea look all but over.
The forward will definitely miss Monday's final Group B encounter against Cape Verde, although scans will be needed to determine the extent of his injury.
The news also comes as a big blow to Southampton, with manager Ronald Koeman already without a number of players through injury, including Toby Alderweireld, Victor Wanyama, Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin.
