The Henan Construction striker had already received recognition for his efforts back home when he was promoted to Warrant officer first class but has now received the plaudits of the Confederation of African Football for his contribution to Chipolopolo's AFCON success.
Zambia striker Emmanuel Mayuka was crowned Top Goalscorer of the competition while Ivory Coast's Jean-Jacques Gosso picked up the Fair Player of the competition accolade, with the Fair Play award going to Côte d'Ivoire.
A number of Zambian and Ivorian players were also named in the
Team of the Tournament including goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene, defenders
Gosso, Stophira Sunzu, attackers Emmanuel Mayuka, Yaya Touré, Gervinho
and Didier Drogba with Rainford Kalaba making it on to the bench.
