Ngouni - Ghana are willing to take a chance on the fitness of star striker Asamoah Gyan for Saturday’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations Group D match against Mali.
Gyan suffered an ankle injury which forced him out of training Thursday and cast a major doubt on his participation for the Mali match, but he was involved in his team’s final training Friday in N'gouni.
"He is back training after he had some problems the previous day and he will start," Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic announced.
The UAE-based striker was a big doubt for this competition after he suffered a hamstring injury last month, but he made a remarkable recovery to start against Botswana in their opening group game on Tuesday.
In the meantime, Stevanovic is expected to ring some changes in his starting team after they struggled to beat debutants Botswana in their first match.
Ghana are looking to secure their place in the quarter-finals with victory over Mali after their openning defeat of Botswana.
