Cheer Bafana to glory: ANCYL

Johannesburg - The ANC Youth League in Gauteng has urged people in the province to support Bafana Bafana and the Africa Nations Cup (AFCON) tournament.

"The ANC Youth League encourages fellow citizens of Gauteng to get out in their numbers and show support for the tournament, and cheer Bafana Bafana to glory," secretary Ayanda Kasa-Ntsobi said on Wednesday.

She congratulated the AFCON Local Organising Committee and provincial government on their preparations for the tournament.

"While there may have been challenges relating to ticketing and the marketing, we are pleased that the tournament is gaining momentum."

On Thursday and Friday the league would visit several schools to give pupils tickets to the soccer tournament.

Bafana Bafana face the Cape Verde Islands in the opening match at the National Stadium on Saturday.
