Cape Town - South Africa's media has come hard at the Springboks and coach Allister Coetzee over the past couple of weeks.
And, many feel, rightly so.
The Boks are three from six under their new coach, but more significant is that they have not looked a side capable of getting out of the hole they currently find themselves in.
Heading into Saturday's Rugby Championship clash against the All Blacks in Christchurch, the forecast is not good for the Boks.
Few are giving them a sniff, and now a New Zealand columnist has lent his voice to the 'Bok bashing' with some pretty scathing comments.
In a piece published on popular Kiwi website www.stuff.co.nz columnist Mark Reason has a full go at the Boks.
"That cacophonous, rasping sound you can hear is of millions of South African rugby fans choking on their biltong. They've never had it so bad. They know that the Springboks could be in for a record hiding in Christchurch on Saturday night," Reason opens with.
"New Zealand have only won the last four matches between the sides by two points, seven points, two points and four points. But have you seen South Africa play recently? They would have trouble closing down a tackle bag," he continues.
Reason goes on to describe the Bok backline as being a "complete shambles" while describing Elton Jantjies as playing like a "schoolboy".
The Bok defence, Reason says, is "bankrupt".
He goes on to suggest that Lions centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg would be a far better option at centre than Juan de Jongh, but then says that Janse van Rensburg "probably suffers from whiteness" and that "that can be an inadmissible colour under South Africa's quota system".
He didn't stop there.
Reason referred to Oupa Mohoje as a "disgrace" following his performance against Argentina in Salta and he suggested that Mohoje would be picked ahead of All Black flank Sam Cane because he is black.
Saturday's showdown will kick off at 09:35 (SA time).
