The news was confirmed by Netwerk24 on Tuesday.
According to the report, Dobson had signed for another three years.
Assistant and backline coach Dawie Snyman, defence coach Norman Laker and technical analyst Human Kriek have also signed on for another three years.
Despite starting the Currie Cup in inconsistent fashion this year, WP bloomed late to secure their path through to the semi-finals where they beat the Golden Lions 19-5 at Newlands.
In the October 28 final, Dobson's men overturned a 21-15 half-time deficit to beat the Sharks 33-21 in Durban thanks largely to stand-out performances from centre Huw Jones, flyhalf Robert du Preez and a dominant scrum.
That was Dobson's first Currie Cup title at Western Province having previously won the Vodacom Cup and SuperSport Challenge.
