Venter feels for Kings players

Cape Town - The drama at EP Rugby and the Kings continues.

The latest developments have seen a group of players calling for EPRU president Cheeky Watson's resignation, while financial uncertainties continue to plague the union ahead of Super Rugby 2016.

SARU has agreed to intervene, and have claimed responsibility for the payments of some of the players for Super Rugby.

But reports have suggested that EP Rugby will also be responsible for some of the salaries, and that has led to an outburst from a group of disgruntled players who are not comfortable with their fate being reliant on Watson's leadership.

The Kings players are due to meet with Watson on Wednesday, who says that by then he will have more clarity on SARU's exact role in alleviating the financial woes of the union.

The Kings are also reportedly looking to implement a 50/50 policy in Super Rugby this season in terms of player representation, and former Springbok centre Brendan Venter has raised concerns via his Twitter profile.
