Toulon replace injured Goromaru

Toulon - Toulon signed Australian back Matthew Carraro as a medical joker on Friday to replace injured Japan fullback Ayumu Goromaru.

The 32-year-old Carraro, who can play either at fullback or on the wing, is currently with Super Rugby side Waratahs in his home country and will join Toulon until Goromaru returns to full fitness.

He previously played in France in the 2012/13 season for Montpellier.

The three-time European champions signed Goromaru in June from Australian club, the Reds.

Toulon kick off their French Top 14 campaign on Sunday with a visit to Bayonne.
