TJ Perenara commits to New Zealand

Cape Town - All Black scrumhalf TJ Perenara has extended his contract with the Hurricanes and New Zealand Rugby until the end of 2017.

The Hurricanes vice-captain confirmed the deal on his Instagram account on Friday.

He has played 26 Tests for the All Blacks after making his debut in 2014.

Perenara has played second fiddle to Aaron Smith during most of that time, but after the latter was suspended midway through the Rugby Championship, he got an opportunity to start the final two Tests against Argentina and South Africa as well as the recent Bledisloe Cup clash with Australia.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
