Tearful Joost pays tribute to Jonah Lomu

Cape Town - Former Springbok star Joost van der Westhuizen has paid a tearful tribute to Jonah Lomu.

All Blacks legend Lomu passed away suddenly on Wednesday after battling kidney disease.

Van der Westhuizen, who himself has been battling Motor Neuron Disease since 2011, wrote on his Twitter page on Wednesday: Difficult to write with eyes full of tears on my eye tracker. Thank you for EVERYTHING Jonah. RIP my dear friend!

Lomu and Van de Westhuizen famously clashed in the 1995 Rugby World Cup at Ellis Park, a match the Springboks won 15-12 in extra-time.
