Sharks confirm Coetzee's departure

Durban - The Sharks on Thursday confirmed that loose forward Marcell Coetzee will join Irish club Ulster at the conclusion of the 2016 Super Rugby campaign.

Sharks Gary Gold, Director of Rugby, said: “Marcell has made a significant contribution in recent seasons but we understand the appeal of the huge salaries on offer in Europe. He will be missed, and yet his departure will create new opportunities for the group of outstanding loose forwards emerging in our squad,” Sharks director of rugby Gary Gold said.

“Marcell is fully committed for Super Rugby, and will captain the Sharks team in the match against Toulouse this evening (Thursday)."

The 24-year-old Coetzee has played 28 Tests for the Springboks since making his debut in 2012.
