Cape Town - Toulon have announced the arrival of second-row Andries Ferreira, who joins the club as a medical joker for injured back-row Juan Smith.
The 26-year-old impressed for the Lions in Super Rugby 2016, playing 15 times in a season that saw the Ellis Park side make the final.
His arrival is much-needed for Toulon, who will be without Smith for approximately four months after he had surgery on a biceps injury.
He joins fellow South Africans Duane Vermeulen, Marcel van der Merwe, Aidon Davis, Juandré Kruger, Bryan Habana and Smith at Toulon.
