Cape Town - Rohan Janse van Rensburg is happy to be playing in the English Premiership ... perhaps a little too happy from a South African point of view.
The 23-year-old Lions centre is currently in England where he has taken a short-term loan deal with the Sale Sharks.
He is expected to return to the Lions for Super Rugby duty in February, but South African rugby fans will be hoping that Janse van Rensburg doesn't develop a desire to join the ever-growing list of South Africans plying their trade abroad on a more permanent basis.
Janse van Rensburg has just one Test cap to his name that came in last year's Test against Wales and while he has battled injury in 2017, he was overlooked for the Springboks' end-of-year tour.
Speaking to the club's , Janse van Rensburg his excitement at joining the club.
"I want to enjoy my time while I am here and I want to make sure that everyone will remember me here for the good things. I am very excited and I want to help the team grow into a good spot for the rest of the season," he said.
"It's incredible to see the passion that goes into the games here. It was great to see how many supporters come out to back the team when we played at Leicester.
"The other South African guys at the club are helping me a lot. They have been taking me out into town and showing me a few things that I need to see."
Springbok Faf de Klerk and South African-born Josh Strauss also play at the club.
