Rassie linked with Munster job

Cape Town - SA Rugby’s general manager of high performance, Rassie Erasmus, is being linked with a role at Irish club Munster.

According to the Irish Independent, the Irish giants are understood to be close to finalising a deal with Erasmus to become their new director of rugby.

Erasmus, 43, reportedly held talks with Munster as well as English club Harlequins but the former Springbok loose forward is said to favour a move to the Irish province.

The Irish newspaper is predicting that Erasmus will leave his post at SA Rugby this European summer before joining Munster in time for the 2016/17 season.

Erasmus was reportedly also in line for the Springbok head coaching role, but that job is set to be given to Allister Coetzee.

Erasmus played 36 Tests for the Springboks between 1997 and 2001. He previously also coached the Cheetahs and Stormers.
