Pau sign All Black Mackintosh

Pau - Pau announced on Wednesday that they had signed loosehead prop Jamie Mackintosh from rival Top 14 side Montpellier.

Mackintosh who has one cap for the All Blacks joins Pau after they desperately needed to find a man to fit the scrummaging bill after the pre-season injury of Julien Jacquot victim of a back hernia.

The 31-year-old had previously played in the French elite for Montpellier appearing five times and scoring one try and was also mostly used as a replacement prop.

Before coming to France, Mackintosh played for the Highlanders in New Zealand and then for the Chiefs. In 2006 whilst captaining the Baby Blacks he won the Under-19 World Cup.

Pau start their 2016/17 Top 14 campaign on Saturday, August 20 with a trip to Castres.
