No SARU verdict on Jurie Roux

Cape Town - The executive council of SA Rugby (SARU) on Friday adjourned its scheduled February meeting to be resumed on a date to be determined.

The executive council was set to meet on Friday to discuss the future of SARU CEO Jurie Roux.

It was recently reported that Roux “manipulated” financial management systems to favour the rugby programme during his time at Stellenbosch University.

He allegedly used software that would not leave an audit trail in making 'unauthorised' transfers from Stellenbosch University's reserve funds to the Maties Rugby Club.

On Friday, Netwerk24 reported that Roux possibly also benefited from bursaries he allocated to players during his time as chairperson of the Maties Rugby Club.

SARU did not state when the meeting will be resumed or whether Roux would continue in his role as CEO.
