Nanai-Williams to start at 10 for Samoa

Murrayfield - Chiefs utility back Tim Nanai-Williams has been selected at flyhalf for Samoa's Test against Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Nanai-Williams started at fullback against Fiji in Samoa's last match of their Pacific Nations Cup campaign in July but his move to the pivot position is one of several changes to the match day squad for the first match of their end-of-year tour.

The 30-year-old replaces Tusi Pisi in the number 10 jersey while Ah See Tuala takes over from Nana-Williams at fullback.

The other backline changes to new head coach Fuimaono Titimaea Tafua's starting line-up sees Paul Perez taking over from Alapati Leiua on the right wing while Pele Cowley comes in for Kahn Fotuali'i at scrumhalf.

Amongst the forwards, prop Donald Brighouse and lock Josh Tyrell will make their Test debuts. They replace Paul Alo-Emile and Faatiga Lemalu respectively.

Tyrell will be partnered in the second row by Chris Vui, who takes over the captaincy from left wing David Lemi.

In the backrow, Jack Lam shifts from openside flank to number eight while TJ Ioane comes into the run-on side to wear the number seven jersey.

The final change is in the frontrow where Manu Leiataua replaces Elia Elia at hooker.

Melani Matavao and AJ Alatimu are also set to make their Test debuts after they were included among the replacements.
