Wellington — Australia backrower Dean Mumm will face a judicial hearing after being cited for striking New Zealand lock Brodie Retallick in an off-the-ball incident in Saturday's Bledisloe Cup Test.
The citing commissioner found the incident, which was not seen by referee Nigel Owens, met the red card threshold necessary for further disciplinary action.
Video replays showed Mumm appeared to strike Retallick with an elbow. Retallick is being assessed for possible concussion and is in doubt for the All Blacks' next test against Ireland in Chicago in two weeks.
The All Blacks went on to win the match 37-10, becoming the first top-tier side in the history of the game to secure 18 straight Test wins.
