Montpellier's Du Plessis suspended

Paris - Montpellier forward Jacques Du Plessis has been suspended for three weeks for "touching the eye area of an opponent", in the French Top 14 match against Racing 92 on March 19, the National Rugby League announced on Wednesday.

The South African will miss the European Challenge Cup quarter-final against Sale on Friday, as well as the possible semi-final on April 24.

If Montpellier reach the semis then Du Plessis' ban will end on April 25, but if the English outfit knock them out of Europe, then he would have to wait another week to return.
