Major milestone for SA's Ashley Johnson

Cape Town - Ashley Johnson brought up a significant milestone while on Wasps duty in the English Premiership this past weekend.

Captaining the side that took on the Newcastle Falcons at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, the former Cheetahs loose forward brought up his 150th cap for the English club since joining in 2012.

Now 31, Johnson also has three caps for the Springboks.

Remarkably, he has transformed from a No 8 to a hooker in England, and he was wearing the No 2 jersey on Saturday as Wasps thrashed their northern visitors 40-10.

Johsnon was also given the honour of leading the side out onto the field with his son alongside him.

He took to Twitter to describe it as a "moment I will always remember".
