Cape Town - Stuart Lancaster spent a day at the Stormers as they step up preparations for this year’s Super Rugby competition.
A local newspaper report indicated that Lancaster was present at the WP Rugby High Performance Centre (HPC) in Bellville on Monday.
A Stormers team spokesperson confirmed to Sport24 that Lancaster was present at the HPC, but that he was only there for the day.
“He was here for one day to look at the set-up on his request as part of a trip which has seen him visit Australia and New Zealand as well,” the spokesperson said.
Lancaster, 46, coached England from 2012 until after last year’s Rugby World Cup. He resigned from his post after England’s failure to reach the knockout stages of the tournament they hosted.
The Stormers are coached by Robbie Fleck, who was named interim coach late last year after Eddie Jones left to replace Lancaster as England coach.
