Kings terminate Cooke's contract by email

Cape Town - The beleaguered Kings have confirmed the termination of centre Ronnie Cooke's contract by email.

The Kings, currently in dire financial straits some 10 weeks from the start of the 2016 Super Rugby tournament, last weekend named their first 20 signings ahead of their re-entry into the southern hemisphere's toughest competition.

Cooke, along with Luke Watson, were notable absentees from that list.

Cooke, who will no doubt have been holding out for one of the remaining squad spots, had his fate sealed on Friday in a email sent by EP Rugby Union president Cheeky Watson.
