Joost to be laid to rest on Friday

Cape Town - The funeral of former Springbok scrumhalf Joost van der Westhuizen will be held at 12:30 on Friday, February 10 at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

Van der Westhuizen, 45, passed away after losing his battle with motor neuron disease (MND) after he was initially rushed to hospital in a critical condition on Saturday.

Despite stabilising and showing signs of acknowledging those around him, he passed away on Monday afternoon.

His J9 Foundation confirmed details regarding the funeral on social media.
