Jones: No contact from England

Cape Town - Eddie Jones has arrived in Cape Town and it didn't take long at Thursday's unveiling for him to be asked about the prospect of coaching England.

Stuart Lancaster stepped down as England boss on Wednesday, and Jones is - according to the bookmakers - one of the favourites to be given the job.

But there was good news for the Stormers on Thursday when their new coach denied that there had been any contact with the RFU.

"No contact... I'm committed to the Stormers," said Jones.

"I woke up this morning and looked at Table Top Mountain ... so I'm here."

Jones also joked that you should "never believe anything you read in the papers.

"I'm happy to be here. The Stormers are one of the most prestigious union's in the world," he said.

Jones' move to Cape Town comes after he guided Japan to three wins - including their thrilling triumph over the Springboks - at this year's Rugby World Cup.
