Hoskins set to lose World Rugby role

Cape Town - South African Rugby Union (SARU) president Oregan Hoskins is set to be replaced as World Rugby’s deputy chairperson.

According to The Guardian, former England captain Bill Beaumont is set to replace Bernard Lapasset as World Rugby’s new chairperson, while former Argentina skipper Agustin Pichot will be Beaumont’s deputy in place of Hoskins.

Former scrumhalf Pichot was nominated by his country’s federation to succeed Hoskins as vice-chairperson.

The elections will be held in Dublin on May 11 with chairperson and vice-chairperson serving four-year terms from July 1.
