Former All Black to coach Pau forwards

Pau - Former All Black prop Carl Hayman will coach Top 14 side Pau's forwards from next season, the French side announced on Thursday.

The 36-year-old ended his playing career last season with Toulon, helping them to three European Cup titles.

"I'm very happy to be here at a club with big ambitions with a great project," he told a press conference.

"I really wanted to coach and to transmit my passion after having been a player, to give a helping hand to enable this club to climb towards the top of the Top 14, towards the leading six."

Hayman, capped 45 times for New Zealand, passed his coaching exams during his time at Toulon.

Pau boast two All Black world champions in veteran centre Conrad Smith and flyhalf Colin Slade.
