Ex-Bok prop Os on his way home

Cape Town - Former Springbok prop Os du Randt is set to return to South Africa following a coaching tenure in Japan.

Du Randt has been the forwards coach of the Toyota Verblitz club since 2015.

The 44-year-old told Netwerk24 that his contract has expired and while the club offered him a new deal, a compromise could not be found.

He will return to South Africa next month.

Du Randt was the Cheetahs’ forwards coach for a number of seasons before he left for Japan.

Upon his return to South Africa, he hopes to stay involved in rugby on a consultancy basis.

Du Randt played 80 Tests for the Springboks and won two Rugby World Cups with the team - in 1995 and 2007.
