Etzebeth named SARPA president

Cape Town - Springbok and Stormers lock Eben Etzebeth has been named president of the South African Rugby Players Association (SARPA).

The 24-year-old will be actively involved in key issues affecting rugby players’ employment.

Etzebeth replaces Bismarck du Plessis, who has left South Africa to play for French club Montpellier.

“It’s a huge honour for me to carry the responsibility of representing professional players in South African in this manner,” Etzebeth said via a press statement.

Kevin Luiters from the Kings has also been elected to the executive committee of SARPA.
