Cape Town - Italian club Zebre have announced the signing of hooker Sidney Tobias, who joins the PRO12 side from Griquas.
The 27-year-old, who is the son of former Springbok flyhalf Errol Tobias, represented Western Province, SWD Eagles and the Blue Bulls before moving to Kimberley in 2015.
An excited Tobias told Zebre’s official website: "I am very glad I have had this chance to live a new life experience but especially rugby in Italy at this time of my career. I'm grateful to the club for having placed their trust in me, I'd love to be able to demonstrate the ability to repay them.”
His dad, Errol, was the first player of colour to represent the Springboks, playing six Tests between 1981 and 1984.
